Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a novel scheme for IP traceback called Fast Overlapping Algebraic Traceback (FOAT) which uses overlapping fragmentation with Reed-Solomon Codes. Then we show that our FOAT scheme does not only have the same properties as the existing Fast Internet Traceback (FIT) scheme but also can build a router map with no false positives to support for traceback during attacks while FIT scheme can not.
