Abstract
Single way rectifier circuits are often quoted for low voltage applications. Often, the operating losses are significantly higher than would be expected from the purchase quotation and tests. In addition, there are many potential pitfalls in the operation of systems with interphase transformers. This paper details the actual operating losses of a typical single way rectifier. Several other operating problems with such units are detailed. Suggested specifications are shown to help avoid such problems.
