Abstract :
This paper introduces a new full-vector finite-difference beam propagation method (FD-VBPM) for the analysis of three-dimensional (3-D) anisotropic optical waveguides. The computational performance is enhanced with the use of a alternating direction implicit (ADI) technique. Additionally, a leapfrog longitudinal scheme is also employed to simplify the solution of the coupled system for the transverse field components.
