  • Abstract
The use of video tables as smart surfaces in home, business and public areas has found increased attention in consumer electronic industry R&D programs; and many applications are emerging. However, the true value of the table in multi-media distribution and consumption will only emerge when the content industry can use the display technology for full effect in a multi-tasking, ambient experience. This paper describes the results of the ITEA Passepartout project of coupling emerging media formats to the video capabilities of tables in a home setting.
