Welcome message

This is the inaugural meeting of the IEEE International Conference on Biomdeical and Health Informatics (BHI). This meeting, focusing on the theme of Global Grand Challenge of Health Informatics, will provide an exciting platform for us to have a systematic discussion of cutting-edge technologies for the acquisition, transmission, processing, storage and retrieval of biomedical and health information, as well as the existing and emerging clinical applications of health information systems. The Organizing Committee of BHI´2012 has developed an excellent inter-disciplinary program. This Program includes 4 keynote lectures, 15 invited talks, and 4 panel discussion sessions by top experts and leaders in the field, and 27 oral sessions and poster sessions formed from 266 accepted papers/abstracts. An Editors´ Forum will also be held during the meeting for the participants to meet with the Editors-in-Chiefs (EiCs) of all IEEE-EMBS journals. This Forum will provide a very valuable opportunity for junior researchers and students to get in-depth information about the publication process of our Journals and have frank, informal discussions about important publication issues with our Editors.
