Abstract
This article describes the main improvements of the researches in Plastic Optical Fiber technology worldwide with focus on the development of commercial Graduated Index Perfluorinated Plastic Optical Fiber (GI PF POF) for data communications in order to reach better performance by lowering transmission losses (attenuation and dispersion).
