Digest Playback Technology for TV Sports Programs

Abstract :
Our team of Sanyo has developed an algorithm that efficiently detects highlight scenes of televised sports programs. We limit the detection range of these scenes to their "game section" by applying standard rules of each sport, namely fixed time intervals of certain sports and sound signals of start and end times. Evaluation data suggests this method to be more effective than current conventional models.
