Abstract
The current work describes the development of an automated measurement system, based on equipment controlled by a GBIP bus. It has been designed for providing automatic characterization of microwave frequency up and down converters. HPVEE is employed as the control software, complemented with communication drivers for the system equipment: sweep generators, a power meter and a spectrum analyzer. The performance of a commercial microwave mixer has been evaluated using the automated measurement system and the results are compatible with the manufacturer´s component specifications.
