Abstract
16-bit color per pixel to reduce power consumption was generally used for mobile DMB phone display. This would account for the lack of smoothness such as blockings caused by 24-bit to 16-bit asymmetric pixel data truncation. This paper proposes and implements a truncation error compensation algorithm using data expansion from correlated color information for gray scale CCT consistency and for color constancy.
