Abstract

This paper presented a new method to transfer isochronous data through a wireless 1394 network. It is difficult to implement a complete heterogeneous system because there are no commercial 1394 link chips supporting the bridge-aware function. The proposed bridge adapting the pseudo CMP protocol made a wired 1394 device as a wireless 1394 device. This method made an IEEE 1394 equipment transfer an isochronous data using a UWB communication method. The demonstration showed successful data transfers between the network with the proposed CMP and the wireless 1394.
