Abstract
Interleaving method belongs to the phase rotation group which is one of the famous PAPR (peak to average power ratio) reduction method in orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) system. The phase rotation method has advantage to reduce the PAPR without spectrum distortion and very flexibly. But, it needs so many IFFT blocks and the side information must be additional included for the correct data recovery. Because of this side information, data rate become less down and spectral efficiency lowers down and BER performance may be degraded. This paper proposes a novel interleaving method for PAPR reduction that does not require any side information to recover the information signal in the receiver. It uses the pilot symbols which are necessarily used for channel information. This new interleaving method rotates the information data for the PAPR reduction and adopts the pilot symbols as well for the interleaver identification. That is, pilot symbols of different forms decide which interleaver is used to randomize. When the number of copy branch and sub-carrier are the same, the proposed method has the same CCDF and BER performances, compared with common SLM method that needs additional side information. Also, we can maintain the BER performance with the ordinary OFDM system.
