Abstract :
This paper presents efficient modification of the CIC-cosine decimation filter. The second order compensator filter is introduced at last decimation stage in order to improve the pass band of interest. The coefficients of the compensator filter are presented as canonical signed digits (CSD) and can be implemented using only adders and shifts. Consequently, the resulting filter is a multiplier free filter and exhibits a high attenuation in the stop band, as well as a low pass band droop in the pass band.
