Abstract
In response to the world´s rapidly ageing population, an intense area of research interest is mobile health (m-health) focused on ubiquitous patient-monitoring. While various biosignals are monitored using conventional methods, it is worthwhile to investigate alternative sensing approaches in order to improve accessibility of patients´ health status. This paper presents the prototype of a “smart shirt” which makes use of the in-house sensors which are being developed in our laboratory. It consists of an intelligent finger-ring photoplethysmogram (PPG) sensor, optical fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensor, and head-mounted camera for pupillary dynamic monitoring.
