Abstract :
In this paper, an image compression algorithm is proposed by improved adaptive binary arithmetic coding based on EZW. The subband decomposition coefficients are coded into multi-layer bitstream, and then the multilayer bitstream is ulteriorly coded with the improved adaptive binary arithmetic. The comparison results show that the improved data conversion method is more effective than the embedded zerotree wavelets encoding algorithm.
