Abstract :
The paper presents a networking architecture model for multimedia applications and their flexible management suitable for B-ISDN. In this architecture, the applications are separated by building blocks according to their functionality in a distributed processing environment. This architecture provides a layered view of an effective management of the multimedia network resources and services. Also, we propose a model for managing and controlling multimedia terminal resources. Finally, we discuss interoperability in order to facilitate connections between multimedia network elements
