Abstract :
A new variable structure model reference robust adaptive control scheme is provided. The scheme deals with a relative degree one SISO plant under parameter and unmodelled dynamical uncertainties. It is shown that even with the existence of unmodelled dynamics, the output tracking error will converge to zero in finite time, and the SPR (strictly positive real) condition for the reference model is not required. Numerical simulation is provided to show the theoretical developments
