  • Abstract
    The commentor provides an example that illustrates the use of the equations in the subject paper to do a preliminary design of a transformer for a forward converter. The assumed input voltage is 150 VDC, the output voltage is 12 VDC at 100 watts; the switching frequency is 40 khz. The core is chosen from the Ferroxcube family of EC cores using 3C8 ferrite material, for which catalog data are tabulated.
