Abstract :
An important technique used in analysing PET and fMRI, that of structural modelling, is briefly described, and the problems this presents in bridging the gap to the underlying neural networks described. Structural models for some tasks are summarised. Neural network approaches to understand them, based on control models, are briefly discussed and applied to the problem of consciousness
