Abstract :
This paper presents a dual-band low power voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) with only one single control signal. This VCO is designed in TSMC 0.18 um CMOS process to cover the frequency bands of 2.45~2.85 GHz and 3.41~3.7 GHz for WiMAX applications. With 1.5 V supply voltage, the simulated power consumption of the core VCO is 3.17 mW. The simulated phase noises at 1-MHz offset frequency are -122.87 dBc / Hz and - 118.13 dBc / Hz for 2.49 GHz and 3.53 GHz, respectively.
