Abstract :
This paper presents some empirical studies on the long memory properties in the time series of averaged electric water heater power consumption in an assemble of communities in two different geographical locations in South Africa. The long memory property in the power consumption time series is characterized by using the fractional order signal processing method. Results shows that the memory parameters in different communities in two different geographical locations are distinct.
