  • Abstract
Experiments have been conducted to determine the effect of jet impingement and the subsequent submersion of the jet on the heat-transfer coefficient. Experiments were performed with a circular jet for different levels of submersion, Reynolds number range of 80 to 450, and jet diameters from 0.5 mm to 2.2 mm. Comparisons of the change in the heat-transfer coefficient are presented for partially and fully submerged jet cases and for a free jet. The coolant used was JP-5 a jet fuel. Flow visualization observations are also presented
