  • Abstract
    An expression for the quantum-limited frequency resolution of active waveguide ring resonator spectrometers is derived, and a 1.6 cm diameter, diode-pumped, active waveguide, ring resonator is demonstrated in a neodymium-doped glass with finesse of 250.
