PIERS Executive-an expert aided control system design environment

An expert system aided CACSD environment for personal computers based on program modules for the analysis, synthesis and simulation of linear multivariable systems is presented. To guide the user through complex design processes a rule-based expert system is applied supervising the execution of the autonomous program modules and managing the data. In order to provide an easily comprehensible user interface which is helpful and allows quick and efficient access to relevant information, windows technique is applied. The paper is concerned with the control system design and analysis algorithms implemented in PIERS Executive and its software infrastructure.
