Abstract :
This paper presents a simplified predistorter noise analysis. An average noise conversion gain is derived by linearizing the predistorter function around the envelope signal operating point and weighting it by the signal probability density function to embed signal statistics. The first order noise term is identified as the dominant noise contributor and used for deriving the noise power density. Internal predistorter bandwidth limitations are studied and an approach for including them in the analysis is outlined. The validity of the analysis is verified with system level simulations of a predistorter.
