Abstract :
Summary from only given. Broadband super-continuum (SC) generation in photonic crystal fibre (PCF) and tapered fibers can be associated with large spectral phase fluctuations across the SC spectrum. Numerical simulations have quantified this coherence degradation as a function of the input pulse duration. Further simulations studying the effect of input wavelength and peak power are expected to lead to optimized supercontinuum sources for a broad range of applications.
