Abstract :
This paper presents an effective method for calculating the equivalent circuit of the microstrip gap discontinuity. A capacitive π network model is used for representing the coupling between the two microstrip patches. Fullwave analysis of the microstrip gap discontinuity has been carried out in the spectral domain, and the equivalent π-network has been determined as a function of the gap spacing for different patch widths
