Abstract :
This paper presents circular array designs in aperture synthesis radiometers based on particle swarm optimization (PSO). The UV coverage of the interferometric array is analyzed, and the PSO algorithm is applied to improve the sampling efficiency of the circular array in the (u, v) plane. Benchmark examples are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the PSO algorithm in designing circular arrays. Also, the convergence performance and comparison with other existing designs are provided.
