Abstract :
A new frequency notched ultra-wideband microstrip antenna with embedded open stub is proposed. The antenna consists of a conventional U shape radiation patch and modified ground plane. By introducing an embedded open-circuit stub, frequency notched band is obtained. The operation bandwidth of the antenna is 2.35-11.2 GHz, in which a frequency notched band of 5.3 - 5.9 GHz has been achieved. Simulation results are confirmed via experiment, showing good ultra-wideband performance and making it advantageous for high speed wireless communication systems.
