Abstract :
Versatile Distribution is usually used in component failure distribution fitting. It can characterize the Function changes accurately by changing its parameters. This paper first conducts a brief analysis of protective relay failure characteristics. Then based on Versatile Distribution, an aging failure rate estimation method of relay protection device with nonlinear programming is proposed. Then through analyzing measured data acquired from a real grid, the failure rate function based on Versatile Distribution is obtained. At last, by comparing all aspects of data and images between the result and the failure rate function based on Three-Parameter Weibull Distribution, and combined with the actual failure rate, it shows that the Versatile Distribution has better performance in assessing failure rate of protective relay.
