Abstract :
Summary from only given. Broadly tunable and efficient laser operation of Cr/sup 2+/:ZnSe have been reported for different pump sources. For many applications, e.g. medical use or trace gas analysis, an efficient compact diode pumped Cr/sup 2+/:ZnSe laser is of great demand. We present for the first time an efficient continuous-wave Cr/sup 2+/:ZnSe laser pumped by high power GaSb laser diodes, which operate at wavelengths of 1.9 /spl mu/m and 2.0 /spl mu/m.
