Abstract :
A blind channel estimation algorithm was proposed to solve the consumption of bandwidth resource. The consumption was caused by resolving the channel information with training sequences in conventional space-time-coded CDMA systems. This blind vector channel impulse response (VCIR) estimation algorithm is suitable for the space-time block coded multicarrier CDMA systems with multiple receiving antennas. Unlike other blind VCIR estimation algorithms, the proposed algorithm can implement the blind estimation when each user employs only one spreading code. Therefore, the maximum number of active users did not decrease. A space-time multiuser detector was constructed for the base station with multiple receiving antennas based on the estimated VCIR. The transmit diversity can be utilized more efficiently and the transmit rate increases while applying space-time block coding to the user side. Simulation results show the more robust performance of the detector than the one which employs another blind channel estimation method.
