Abstract :
A range estimation method for FMCW level radar based on the phase of the FFT of the beat-note signal is presented. The ambiguity in the phase measurement is eliminated by the phase difference of two segmented FFTs. Formula for evaluating the RMSE (root mean square error) of range estimation is given, which fitted well with computer simulation results
