Abstract :
To transmit data and communication signals, Tehran Regional Electric Company (T.R.E.C) uses different dispatching systems. Because of wide bandwidth and high quality of signal transmission, optical fiber is a suitable technology for the exploitation and management of power transmission and distribution. In addition, optical fiber communication provides telecontrolling and telemetring, as well as sending the protection signals. Thus this technology can provide all of the T.R.E.C.´s dispatching requirements. In fiber optic communication, considering the high quality of service and low cost for each channel, SDH technology is an optimum choice compared with other technologies. To overcome the deficiencies of SDH technology, access IP´s facilities, and also control and optimize the protection of power network, NGSDH technology based on the smart ASON technique is chosen.
