Abstract :
Summary form only given. We demonstrate that the high degree of light localization in the core of a holey fiber enhances third-order nonlinear-optical processes, allowing the third harmonic of unamplified Cr: forsterite laser pulses to be generated, simultaneously offering the possibility to control the chirp of the third-harmonic pulse through the crossphase modulation (XPM) effect.
