Abstract
Two-dimensional multiplicative autoregressive (2-D MAR) filter structures are a generalized form of factorizable 2-D ARMA models which allow for nonseparable filter supports. In this paper, the stability criteria for 2-D MAR filters and a simple method for stabilizing zero phase 2-D MAR filters are presented. Also, methods for designing and implementing 2-D MAR filters with full plane zero phase frequency response is discussed. Finally, a zero phase fan filter is designed to demonstrate the effectiveness of 2-D MAR models in this application
