Abstract :
Propagation of THz waves from 0.1THz to 0.8THz in sand-dust are studied using Mie theory and Monte Carlo(MC) simulation. Scattering characteristics of a spherical sand-dust particle illuminated by THz waves are analyzed by Mie theory. The extinction efficiency factor, the asymmetry parameter and scattering intensity versus frequency of incident waves are computed. With MC algorithm, the reflectivity, transmittance and backscattering intensity of a THz wave in sand-dust layers is simulated.
