Abstract
A new approach for chaos control using periodic impulsive parametric perturbations is suggested and applied to suppress chaos in Uuffing system. Using the Melnikov´s method, it is proved that in the neighborhood of a homoclinic orbit, chaos can he suppressed perturbing impulsively a parameter of the system. A sufficient condition for chaos suppression is derived, and the amplitude and width of the impulsive perturbation applied is numerically obtained.
