Abstract
This paper presents the INFOCLIMA project, which aims to study wireless transmissions in the Brazilian Amazon. The simulation results are useful for our initial research, showing that data transmissions over an ad-hoc wireless network in Amazonian climate will adversely affect nodes more distant from the sink. Therefore, environmental monitoring projects should pay special attention to the probability of data loss, since for this application delay and throughput do not affect the monitoring application much.
