Abstract :
An efficient technique is presented for the computer-aided design of microwave oscillators. For given active devices, it determines accurately the passive embedding circuit to achieve optimum performance of the oscillators in terms of output power, efficiency, harmonic contents, etc., as specified by designers. No iteration between nonlinear and linear sub-circuits is required during computer simulation, which reduces substantially the computational requirement and the difficulties associated with numerical convergence. The circuits with strong nonlinearities can thus be handled effectively using the present technique
