Abstract
The analysis and design of a high-frequency DC/AC inverter that is based on the concept of dual asymmetrical resonant bridges are presented. It is shown that the asymmetrical resonant bridge arrangement offers better utilization of the inverter total kVA rating and improved efficiency over the symmetrical bridge arrangement. A frequency-domain model of the inverter system is presented in order to study its steady-state behavior. Criteria to select resonant components are given, and performance curves are presented. A step-by-step design procedure is illustrated by means of a design example.<>
