Abstract
Because of the fact that the rough sea surface covered by an organic film will cause the attenuation of the capillarity waves, which means the organic film plays an important role in rough sea surface processes. This paper focus on one-dimensional (1D) rough sea surface with Pierson-Moskowitz (PM) spectrum separating homogeneous insoluble organic slicks. Firstly, the effects of the organic film on PM surface spectrum is presented, as well as the correlation length, the root-mean-square (RMS) height and slop of the rough sea surface. The damping effects of the organic film changes the physical parameters of the rough sea surface, for example, reduces the RMS height and slop of the rough sea surface, which result in the attenuation of the high-frequency component of PM spectrum leading to the modification of surface PM spectrum. Then, the influence of the organic film on the electromagnetic (EM) scattering coefficients from PM rough sea surface covered by organic film is investigated and discussed in detail by compared with the clean rough sea surface through the method of moments (MOM).
