Abstract
In this paper, we propose a general scattering geometry-based channel model for the analysis and design of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems in mobile fading channels, which describes the propagation environment of wireless signals. According to this model, some important effects can be explained, such as polarization properties of the antennae, large delay and angle dispersion by propagation via far clusters, and the high -rank effect. Meanwhile, a formula can be deduced on the basis of this model to determine the channel transfer matrices and simulate the capacity as well.
