Abstract :
We have developed a new powerful solution in foundry business for getting the demand (order) and supply (lot) pegging information for our customers and FAB planning operation-the "modular demand and supply pegging mechanism". This mechanism helps planners to easily customize the pegging rule for the different requests from the customers and to reduce our FAB operation load significantly. It has been successfully implemented in all UMC FABs (including one 6" FAB, five 8" FABs, and one 12" FAB). As a result, the modular pegging mechanism improves our customer service dramatically along with our efficiency.
