Phase weighting approach of sum pattern was studied and described for linear arrays. With the study of the semi-aperture technique (SAT) and the partial aperture technique (PAT), this paper extends the relevant phase weighting approach of sum pattern for linear arrays to the phase weighting approach of difference patterns, SAT and PAT
