Abstract :
The coming 3rd generation WCDMA systems are moving the focus of receiver and transmitter design towards powerful digital baseband signal processing. This change poses new requirements for multipath fading simulators used in R&D, validation and type approval tests. The key new requirements are the capability of simulating semi-real time signals and the introduction of a new physical interface layer-digital baseband. To facilitate these requirements full digital implementation of the multipath fading simulator is needed
