Abstract :
This paper presents a component-based open GIS software system. The system was designed to conform to the international standards proposed by OGC (Open GIS Consortium) and offers a GIS core functions. The open GIS component software system is developed on the Microsoft OLE/COM environment using ATL and Visual C++. As the authors developed five kinds of GIS applications using implemented software, the advantages of component-based Open GIS software is proved
