Abstract
State estimation assumes that measurement errors are statistically small, that data redundancy is adequate in number, type and topological distribution of measurements. Furthermore, network configuration and parameters are assumed known. Frequently, these hypotheses are not true. Topology errors result from errors in the status of the circuit breakers associated with a network branch such as a line, a transformer, a shunt capacitor, or a bus tie. In this paper, network configuration and parameter errors are addressed and an identification procedure is demonstrated.
