Abstract

Two of the worlds largest roll crushers (2×1000 kW) have been in operation in Cibinong, Indonesia since June 1992. The paper describes the configuration of the roll crushers with the DC drives, the performance and the behaviour of the drive system in terms of efficiency, both mechanical and electrical, the production and the achievement of it. Special attention is paid to the system being network friendly in terms of feeding higher order harmonic distortions into the network during starting and during normal operation
