Abstract :
Interest in slow target imaging lead the authors to the synthetic space-time aperture radar (SAR) simulation and performance evaluation developed of Space-Time Adaptive Processing (STAP) clutter suppression technique for SAR processing. In multi-channel STAP system the side-lobe of echo is very high and the integrated radar cross section (RCS) is too large to neglect the side lobe clutter as the side lobe illuminates a very large area of ground. The authors use the STAP to suppress the side lobe clutter. Suppressed clutter powers in signal to clutter ratios (SCR) and the improvement factor (IF) are measured in this numerical experiment and presented. This investigation offers a guide to the SCR requirement on the next-in-line processors such as time frequency estimation and target imaging
