Abstract
Content centric networks (CCN) is a new content-oriented network paradigm. It changes the communication mode from where to what. CCN can realize efficient content transmission and support consumer mobility inherently because of its receiver-driven characteristic. But it cannot handle provider mobility effectively since the movement will lead to the entire routing information updating. In this paper, we propose a scheme based on Domain Proxies (DPs) to handle provider mobility, which is called Domain Proxies based Provider Mobility Management (DP-PMM). In this scheme DPs can serve as a gateway of a domain to handle the packets went through it. Also DPs can buffer the interest packets when the provider moves away and forward the buffered packets to the provider after it reconnects to the network. Using this scheme, the retrieval time can decrease and the transfer efficiency can be improved.
